New Music West, western Canada's largest music conference have just announced their guest panelist roster for this year's May program, with a host of heavy hitters in the North American music industry. New Found Frequency has been invited to lend their knowledge and expertise on an international touring and new incremental touring incomes panel. Reggie Ray will share the panel and speak with Rob Wright (SL Feldman), Paul Farberman (Celine Dion), Erik Hoffman (Live Nation) and Adam Countryman (Agency Group) on May 17th.

NFF ventures to Cuba to expand the global music community!

It's been an exciting and rewarding year for New Found Frequency so now in an effort to give back to the international community, NFF co-creator Lizzy Ray will embark on a journey to southern Cuba in late June to exchange music to rural communities. As part of New Found Frequency's ongoing cultural exchange program, L. Ray will donate and exchange international music to remote Cuban communities who scarcely have access to music players much less listen to international sounds from across the world. Ray is calling on Australian artists and bands to consider donating their own music to a thriving Cuban community of music lovers who would otherwise have limited access to international music. WPA's triumphant return to the Australian music limelight will come to a close with an unprecedented series of shows at The Corner Hotel in Richmond. History will be made with our four night residence and New Found Frequency will be there too. That's right, WPA is pleased to announce that they will be creating an exclusive *Artist Controlled Bootleg of the April 16th show. For those of you attending on the 16th, NFF will record and instantly deliver a recorded "bootleg" CD immediately after the show. New Found Frequency's Australian Export Showcase has now gone global. What does this mean? The Export Showcase is no longer exclusive to Australian artists... it's now open to artists and bands from around the world. The idea was sitting right in front of our noses! Over the last two years New Found Frequency has enjoyed hosting the Australian Export Showcase and recording live across 4 continents in over 12 countries. It's time to step it up! This is why we've decided to extend our showcase events to artists and bands from around the world. We've talked to some people who know some people who know some other people and we're getting ready to launch our initiative this 2008. We're starting by extending our hand in a gesture of good 'cultural exchange' as we record the Excelsior Recordings / Netherlands showcase at this year's New Music West conference in Vancouver, Canada. Well we're back from a jam packed 'xoxo' tour of Europe across 6 countries in just under three weeks. We laughed, we cried and we rocked!

The tour kicked off at the Winston Kingsdom in Amsterdam to a crowd full of toxins, tonic and a tumultuous appetite to rock. The bands rounded up the Netherlands stage of the tour with gigs at The Rambler in Eindhoven and Little Devil in Tilburg. Highlights included local cultural exchange band from '4some' these chicks can rock. The tour moved east to Germany and took position at this year's Popkomm Musik Festival at Club Kato in Kruezberg. The official line up included; Konqistador, Gecko Roman Project, Asleep In The Park, Beki & The Bullets and Yemanja. It was a packed show with industry hob-knobbers, music lovers and colourful Kruezberg locals. After days of promoting on the exhibition floor, drinking at the official Norwegian, Swedish, Belgium and Netherlands exhibit stands - everyone wabbled out of Berlin and made the train to Prague for the tour's next stop. The showcase took place at a wonderfully haunting little dungeon basement club 'XT3' and authentic Absynth was a blaze for a mere $1.20 AUD. The night soon turned debaucherous as everyone drinking had a little green glowing halo above their heads. Moving on - to Poland we found ourselves at a very impressive club, 100's of years old and very gothic "Alchemia'. It was a fantastic show with a very enthusiastic crowd. All bands including the cultural exchange band 'Bloody Mary' delivered like no other gig. Konqistador had crowds chanting for encores, problem was, the set is sequenced, they had no more songs - so they just started over. Bands enjoyed a few days off, with many staying in Krakow to see the city, others moving onto Kiev, Ukraine for gigs and others to Vienna, Austria and Brataslava, Slovakia. The tour arrived in Bucharest, Romania for our final European show - the club was 'Suburbia' and a very cool club at that. The showcase commenced with local cultural exchange band Dekadens who were awesome! The audience was the best the tour had seen yet. Fists were in the air, sweat was on the walls and Marty from Asleep In The Park was on the floor. Rockin. Final destination? Turkey. We headed to Turkey the next day for two back to back shows at the very cool and very glamorous 'Ghetto' club in Beyoglu/Taxism. Everyone was blown away at the class and style of this venue - it looked like a mini Sistine Chapel, paintings on the ceiling and all. We enjoyed two fantastic shows, with great audience attendance and two very very talented cultural exchange bands including nu-jazz troubadours Playground. See all the pix right here!

Konqistador, Beki & The Bullets, Asleep In The Park and Gecko Roman Project shared the stage with local cultural exchange band 4Some to shake up a packed house at the Winston Kingdom. New Found Frequency film and audio crew were there to capture all the action.
